Bybi is an inclusive, high-performing, and pro-planet skincare company based in London. They are approachable and positive, celebrating all kinds of beauty. They want to make it easy for their customers to take care of themselves and push for real results.

During my time at Shed, I managed all of the design deliverables for Bybi Beauty. I ensured design consistency with the established creative direction and improve the design layout for both primary and secondary packaging across all of the products.

Bybi target the millennial trendsetters as their market focus. They want to appeal to young millennials (24-34 y/o) who care about beauty and sustainability. The big idea behind the packaging and overall branding is that it needs to be Instagram worthy as the appeal to purchase. All of the products are color-coded by categories of products to make it easy for the customer to understand what they should buy for what skin problem they want to tackle. There are 5 categories: Brighten (green), Regenerate (purple), Soften (pink), Balance (yellow), and Essentials (white).

My role as the designer was to deliver a packaging design experience which appealed to the target market and was bold/lively. All of the pictures used in the carton packaging were carefully picked to match the products’ results and give a unique packaging experience. I came up with the idea of using epic nature pictures to represent the usage of each product. For example, Night Nutrition’s picture is a moon to represent it’s a night time product.

Bundle Bag Designs

These bundle bags were really fun to design. From choosing the sustainable material to designing these for production, the overall idea was to design trendy bags that could then be used as makeup bags or small gym bags as a fun statement piece. I decided on a monochromatic look while mixing and matching different textures to make them bold and playful.
